Lessons Learned
I have been on this fitness journey for 4 years now. I have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I have learned a lot about myself in the process. I have also learned what does and does not work for me, I have also learned that for each of us our journey is unique. For me, I can't pigeon hole myself into one key exercise or format. I find I get bored easily. For instance, in 2013-2015 all I did was run. I ran 5K, 8K, 10K and half marathons. I traveled to Disney for a race. Then I lost my motivation and running stopped altogether. That's when it all fell apart. And getting back to it is so, so hard. However, here I am with my motivation and a brand new perspective. I'm running and focused on a 5K for now. I'm kickboxing and is that ever humbling. And I'm also making myself vulnerable by sharing my story. I'm sharing in hopes that I can help others. Find something you enjoy and find multiple somethings just so when you motivation wanes you are still moving forward. Its a journey worth taking, we all know the rewards and I look forward to sharing it with you.
